Have you guys heard of the brand The Ordinary? It has made its rounds around Instagram and more so on any beauty blogs out there. I’ve purchased a few of their products when I first heard about it, a couple of months ago. However, when I first got the foundation, I couldn’t use it since the shade that I got was darker than I anticipated it to be. Lately, my go-to foundation does not match me since I got a tad bit darker because SUMMER happened. So I had the chance to actually try The Ordinary Serum Foundation.
The Ordinary Serum Foundation retails for around $7, and it has 21 different shades. And they are divided into three categories: 1 for lighter tones, 2 for medium tones, and 3 for darker tones. One of the things I like about this foundation is that their shades tell you what undertone will it match. They offer physical sun protection with SPF 15 and claims to be vegan and cruelty free. I am in the medium tones with yellow undertones so I purchased it in the shade 2.1 Y. While browsing through the shades, I was lucky enough my shade was the only one in stock. If you haven’t heard, there was a huge waitlist for the different shades of this foundation. So I was really fortunate to be able to try it without having to wait.
Okay, so let’s talk more about the foundation.. The Ordinary Serum Foundation is lightweight with medium coverage. With that being said, it has a watery consistency. Trying out with both a beauty blender and a brush, it sure blends easily leaving a satin finish. Although I am more on the oily side, I find that this foundation is better than their coverage foundation. This foundation is perfect if you want a dewy, lightweight look for daytime. There’s a lot of ways that you can do to play around with it a bit, whether you want it to be matte or more dewy.
Overall, I really like this foundation… Actually, scratch that, I love this foundation, it kind of remind me of the Nars sheer glow. And the greatest thing about it is that, it’s way cheaper than Nars foundation. Having oily skin, I was kind of hesitating to use this foundation, but I’m glad I did. I love that it leaves my skin looking radiant. The only downside is that it oxidizes on my skin, so my advice is to get one or two shades higher than your normal shade.
Have you tried The Ordinary Serum Foundation? What are your thoughts about it?
