Now that the beautiful spring weather is starting to kick in, it’s time to wave goodbye to that dark, bold lips (at least for now), and say HELLO to that light and brighter shades. Despite my love for berry tones, nothing beats that perfect bright red or flirty pink lippies I am obsessed with. So I have for you my favourite drugstore lipsticks for spring.
Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate – I got these lipsticks in the shades #103, #105, #106, #109, when it first came out, and as you can tell I’m obsessed with it. Hahah. It has a really nice texture, but for a matte lipstick they are a bit creamy on the lips.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream – I have yet to try the other shades from this line, but I find this quite drying to my lips without proper moisturizing.
Rimmel # 103 – If you are looking for a dupe for MAC Pretty Please, this is the shade you want to try. It’s a really nice pinkish mauve shade, which can be worn if you want that subtle wash of colour. This is usually my go-to everyday lipstick for Spring.
Rimmel # 105 – This shade is closely similar to the color of my lips, which is perfect for that natural look for Spring. Even if it doesn’t really give your lips a pop of colour, it gives a little shine that takes that dull look away.
Rimmel # 106 – If there is a shade from this range that I’m completely in love with, that would be the Rimmel # 106. The shade is more of a hot pink or a really bright red which is perfect for a statement lip for both Spring and Summer.
Rimmel # 109 – This is a beautiful coral-orange shade. At first, I was too scared to try shades that are not pink or red. But this shade is just so beautiful not to give it a shot. This shade complements all skin tones, which is a plus.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm – Although I mentioned that this lipstick is drying, it’s still one of my favourites. I always have a hard time trying to find that perfect nude lipstick without me looking like I’m sick. Although this is not the “perfect” shade I’m looking for, it comes pretty close to it. I love the pink-‘ish’ undertone in this.
Have you tried any of the shades? What’s your favourite spring lipsticks, any recommendations? Let me know down in the comments! 🙂
